Strata Florida

A furniture project for Strata Florida.

I would like to make a piece of furniture for Strata Florida in order to develop my ability to work to a brief, and further develop my hand tool skills.

Strata Florida is beautiful ruin in the heart of Wales, and from the visit it's apparent that rustic, repurposed wood would fit in well there, as well as traditional hand tool furniture.

As so much of the site is yet to be... restored?... it's hard to imagine how interior furniture would be useful at this point. Which makes me think that something outdoors would be better right now.

I'm initially leanning towards a bench, utilising the famous archway design of Strata Florida as the legs. I think solid construction, oversized tenons, and long lasting timber would be ideal.
